Lisa’s Watermelon Sangria Recipe

July 12, 2014 by Lisa Pinney

[ingredients]

What a relaxing 4th of July weekend we had!
We carried this delicious Sangria with us to the bay
as we watched the fireworks…
A delicious way to begin the holiday weekend!
This particular wine makes a delicious Sangria
and can be found at Walmart…
My watermelon imported all the way from Milton, FL 🙂
Cut it in pretty chunks like this…
I filled my pretty jar…
Add the oranges, cherries and their juice and the simple syrup…
I am oh so excited about the cherries!!!
I added the wine…
Breathtaking!
I put it in the refrigerator overnight to let the flavors combine…
Right before serving, add the club soda…
So delicious and refreshing!

Ingredients

Scale
  • Watermelon
  • 1 bottle of Rosato red wine–or your favorite
  • 1 jar of maraschino cherries–because they’re my favorite!
  • 3 oranges
  • 1 recipe of simple syrup=1 cup sugar dissolved in 1 cup water 32 oz club soda
  • You can certainly add any other fruit of your choice–I think any other melon and limes would be delish!

Instructions

Cut the watermelon in chunks and place them in your pitcher or jar.
Add the oranges, cherries and their juice and the simple syrup.
Add the wine.
Place it in the refrigerator overnight to let the flavors combine.
Right before serving, add the club soda.
Enjoy!

Daniel’s Favorite Mocha Holiday Punch Recipe

December 31, 2013 by Lisa Pinney

This has been my Daniel’s favorite
holiday punch for years now…
No family party would be the same without it.
Daniel’s Favorite Mocha Holiday Punch
1 cup boiling water
1/4 cup instant coffee granules
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 gallon chocolate milk of your choice
1/2 gallon milk
1 half gallon Breyer’s 1/2 chocolate and
1/2 vanilla ice cream
(if I can find the Breyer’s checkerboard
vanilla and chocolate, I buy that one!)
 Dissolve the instant coffee granules
and sugar into the boiling water.
Put in refrigerator to cool completely–
I’ll usually do this 1 day ahead.
When ready to make the punch,
place the coffee mixture in your punch bowl.
Put the ice cream in next.
Pour the chocolate milk over the ice cream
and then the whole milk.
Stir gently with your ladle.
Enjoy!

**********
Pour the cold coffee mixture into your punch bowl…

Add the ice cream and pour the chocolate milk over next…

Then the whole milk…

Stir gently and enjoy!!
