Braided Spaghetti Bread Recipe

May 10, 2015 by Lisa Pinney

We absolutely adore spaghetti at our house!  I could eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner :))

My daughter-in-law, Amy, made this recipe a while back and it became one of their family favorites!

I made it last night and we’re overwhelmingly agreeing with their decision!

Let’s get started!

I found this frozen bread dough in my part of the world…

It matters not what brand you may have..

 IMG_2408

I sprayed a piece of parchment paper lightly with nonstick spray…

plopped my dough on top…

IMG_2413

I rolled it in a square of approximately 12 x 16  shape…

It takes some time and patience to do this…

don’t get discouraged…:))

IMG_2418

I cooked and drained my spaghetti noodles…

I mixed mine with some leftover sauce I had….

IMG_2419

I threw in the shredded Mozzarella cheese and Parmesan..

IMG_2421

I added the spaghetti mixture to the center of the dough…

IMG_2423

I used my pizza cutter to cut strips on both sides of the dough…

IMG_2425

Carefully bring the dough strips over and twist together…

This will be sticky and won’t look pretty but it will be ok!

IMG_2428

I brushed it with the melted butter, parsley, and garlic seasoning…

IMG_2429

Bake for 30-35 minutes on 350 degrees…

IMG_2433

Look at this!

Cut into serving slices and serve with a side of marinara if you wish!!

Yum!

Braided Spaghetti Bread Recipe

  • Author: Lisa Pinney

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf frozen bread dough, thawed to room temperature
  • 6 ounces spaghetti, cooked and drained
  • 1 cup thick spaghetti sauce, jar or homemade
  • 8 ounces shredded mozzarella
  • 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 2 TBSP butter, melted
  • 1 tsp parsley flakes
  • 1/2 tsp garlic salt

Instructions

Spray piece of parchment paper lightly with non-stick cooking spray.

Roll loaf or combined dinner rolls into a 12×16-inch rectangle. Cover with plastic wrap and let rest 10-15 minutes.

In a large bowl, combine spaghetti noodles, sauce and cheeses. Stir to combine.

Remove wrap from dough. Place spaghetti lengthwise in a 4-inch strip down center of dough.

With a pizza cutter, cut smaller 1 inch strips on each side of the dough to be able to bring across and twist in a braid.

Lift braid with both hands and place on a large, sprayed baking sheet.

Melt butter and add the parsley and garlic salt. Brush over the bread.

Bake at 350°F 30-35 minutes or until golden brown. Cool slightly and slice to serve.
