Ooey Gooey Butter Cookies Recipe

February 26, 2019 by Lisa Pinney

My sweet coworker Antonia sent me this recipe…and a request to make her a batch to try!

Well, Antonia was not wrong! They were easy, delicious and ever so ooey gooey in texture!

If you’ve ever made the Ooey Gooey Butter Cake Bars — this taste is about the same but in cookie form.

Mom & I tried one warm and we thought they were best at that point…

But the “test kitchen” that tried them the next day did not complain one bit!

Let the magic begin by combining the sugar, butter and cream cheese…

Add the vanilla…

I had some yummy vanilla bean paste and threw that in instead…

it’s ok to go rogue like me!

Add the egg next and combine well…

Pour in the cake mix…

Your dough will look amazing like this!

Roll the dough into the perfect little spheres…

Roll each ball in the confectioners sugar…

Place them like so on your cookie sheet…

I used parchment paper on mine for a perfect release of the cookies…

Put these little jewels in the 350 degree oven and bake 12-15 minutes…

They will be utterly perfect like this!

Enjoy the ooey gooey deliciousness!
