Apple Brioche Breakfast Bake Recipe

September 19, 2019 by Lisa Pinney

I know that when there’s the first whisper of fall everyone thinks pumpkin spice…

but y’all…I’m thinking Apple is definitely the fall flavor of 2019!

You’re going to have to run to your nearest Walmart (or three)…

and not dilly dally…because these Apple Cinnamon Brioche Loaves are completely

disappearing from the shelves as fast as the little fall baker elves are putting them on!

I actually saw them one day and knowing I would not need them until the weekend,

I passed them up…wrong move!

It took me a couple of more days and five different Walmart stores to get just

two of these beauties!

And when I unwrapped the first one and sampled that first “test bite”….OH MY!

Yes…there’s always a “test bite”  🙂

Anyway, yes…I wanted to eat the whole luscious, buttery loaf…

And yes, you will want to eat the whole luscious, buttery loaf…

But if you will just pace yourself and add just a few more ingredients, we will turn this

yummy bread into a most wonderful fall breakfast to share with your family and friends!

[ingredients]

[method]

First tear the loaf of bread into pieces and place them in a 9 x 13 pan that

you’ve sprayed with nonstick spray…

Pour your apple pie filling into a mixing bowl and cut the slices into smaller pieces…

Add a tsp of vanilla flavoring or some vanilla bean paste like I did if you have it!

Next add the cinnamon and stir the apples to combine all the flavorings…

Next add the apples by spoonfuls over the brioche…

In a separate mixing bowl, whisk the eggs and whipping cream…

Pour the cream mixture over the apples and brioche…

It will look so amazing like this, but you now must cover it with foil

and refrigerate the casserole overnight…

I decided to add a crumble to the top before baking…

In a small bowl, grate the cold butter and add the brown sugar, flour and quick oats…

combine it until blended with a pastry cutter or even your fingers will do!

Sprinkle over the top of the casserole and pop it in the oven

to bake on 375 degrees for 45 minutes…

While the casserole is baking, make a quick drizzle with

confectioner’s sugar, milk and vanilla…

After baking, it will look absolutely yummy like this!

Drizzle the icing over the Apple Brioche Bake for the last touch of good measure…

Oh perfection!

Cut in squares and serve with a side of sausage or bacon

for an unforgettable fall breakfast or brunch!
