There is no better dumplings than my Momma’s dumplings.
If I ever want some comfort food,
this is the first thing I order from her!
this is the first thing I order from her!
I can make dumplings also,
and I really try to follow her steps,
but in the end, hers will always taste better than mine!
**********
1 pkg Turkey Wings
2 cups self rising flour
hot water
1/2 stick butter
salt and pepper
Mom always begins by cooking the
Turkey Wings in her pressure cooker.
You can cook them in a pot, but it will take a bit longer. When they’re done, shred the meat and leave in the stock; discard the skin and bones.
Now, begin making the dumplings.
Combine the flour with enough hot water
until mixture is combined, wet and sticky.
Flour your cutting board, counter top or wax paper
and place your dough on top.
Flip it and knead it a few times, covering it
with flour so that you can roll it out.
Use your pizza cutter to cut the dough into small pieces
and drop one by one into slightly boiling broth,
until you use all your dough.
Cover and simmer about 20 minutes or so.
Salt & pepper the dumplings when they are done
and add 1/2 stick butter, stir gently until combined.
Enjoy!**********Most people make their dumplings with chicken,
but Momma loves to make hers with turkey–
she says turkey is much more rich to make the dumplings with–
so we won’t argue with her 🙂
She pressure cooks her turkey wings for about 30 minutes or so….
you can do this with chicken if you use this…
then shred and discard bones and skin…
and add the meat back to the stock…
Keep it simmering 🙂
Momma is getting her flour ready to put in her mixing bowl…

Momma is getting her flour ready to put in her mixing bowl…
She adds hot water to the flour…enough to make it kinda sticky…
She pours it in a pan that has more flour in it…
She then turns it over and over to get more flour in it…
She then kneads it some and rolls it out…very, very thin…
and then she cuts the dough with a pizza cutter=genius!!
Just look at how perfect!!
Drop each one in the simmering stock…
when you get them all into the pot, give them a gentle stir
and cover and let simmer about 30 minutes…
stir in that 1/2 stick of butter at the end…
if you so desire…
Then they are just super perfectly yummy like this!
