Almond Streusel Cherry Cream Cheese Danish Recipe

  • Author: Lisa Pinney

Ingredients

Scale
  • Streusel:
  • 2 TBSP sugar
  • 2TBSP flour
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 TBSP butter
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds
  • Danish:
  • 3oz cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup cherry pie filling
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • 1 can Pillsbury Grand Biscuits
  • 3 TBSP butter, melted

Instructions

Heat even to 350 degrees.

Make streusel:

Grate 1 TBSP butter and add in flour…cinnamon and almonds. Mix until all incorporated and set aside.

Filling:

With mixer, combine cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.

In separate bowl mix almond flavoring with cherries.

Danishes:

Separate biscuits and flatten each into a 5 inch circle.

In the center of each one, spoon about 5 cherries and 2 tsp cream cheese mixture.

Bring the sides of dough up and over filling…pressing the seam together as you go. Then twist the top in a circular motion to seal…making a little round fruit filled package!

Dip top of each biscuit in melted butter and dip in streusel.

Place on baking sheet a couple of inches apart and bake 18-22 minutes. Remove to cooling rack.

Enjoy!
