Enjoying those delicious blackberries this summer?
We are too!
Sharing my recipe for my homemade blackberry cobbler today–
I love any dessert made in an iron skillet–
there’s just something extra special about it 🙂
Melt the butter. Add the sugar, flour, baking powder and salt. Mix well and whisk in the milk and whipping cream.
Pour into a greased cast iron 10" skillet--if you don't have one, you can bake the cobbler in a 9x9" square baking dish.
Place the berries on top of the batter, then sprinkle with some additional sugar.
Bake in a 350-degree oven for 1 hour until golden and bubbly.
Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
The most delicious ingredients…
Melt the butter and add the sugar and flour…
the salt and baking powder…
and the whipping cream…
the almond flavoring…
stir well, but don’t worry about the lumps…the batter will resemble pancake batter…
Pour the batter into a large greased iron skillet…or a baking dish if you don’t have a skillet…
Top with some whipped cream or ice cream and enjoy!
