Enjoying those delicious blackberries this summer?

We are too!

Sharing my recipe for my homemade blackberry cobbler today–

I love any dessert made in an iron skillet–

there’s just something extra special about it 🙂

  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup cake flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream
  • 1 tsp almond flavoring
  • 2 1/2 cups blackberries, fresh or frozen

Step 1

Melt the butter. Add the sugar, flour, baking powder and salt. Mix well and whisk in the milk and whipping cream.

Step 2

Pour into a greased cast iron 10" skillet--if you don't have one, you can bake the cobbler in a 9x9" square baking dish.

Step 3

Place the berries on top of the batter, then sprinkle with some additional sugar.

Step 4

Bake in a 350-degree oven for 1 hour until golden and bubbly.

Step 5

Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
