My friend Joyce ┬ásaid, “Do you like Sauerkraut?”

“Absolutely not!”, I replied….
She smiled….
She grilled some hot dogs…
brought in this amazing homemade sauerkraut…
and I was a changed woman!!
Absolutely delicious!

  • 32 oz Claussen's Sauerkraut, drain, thoroughly rinse and drain again.
  • 2 boneless pork chops
  • 1 lb bacon
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 small head of cabbage, chopped
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Step 1

Cook bacon and drain on paper towels.

Step 2

Add pork chops to bacon grease and cook through. Remove and slice into small pieces.

Step 3

To the pan add the drained sauerkraut, onion, cabbage, pork pieces and bacon.

Step 4

Turn heat to low, cover with lid and let steam for about 30 minutes, stirring frequently.

Step 5

Season to taste with salt and pepper.

The incredible ingredients…
The cabbage wanted a pic of its own…
cabbage is sometimes snooty like that…
Cook that amazing bacon…
I even put my pork chop pieces in with it…
They all cooked just fine together!
The hardest part of this recipe will to be
NOT eating the pile of bacon..
#truth…To your bacon grease, add the cabbage…
Stir and let cook down a bit…
Chop those onions!
Add them next…
Then add the pork chops…
The sauerkraut…
and the BACON!!!Let it steam on low about 30 minutes,
stirring well and add salt and pepper to your taste..
It will end well like this!!! Enjoy!
